We are about herbs, heritage, health, and ducks...
I had the privilege through my work of travelling to beautiful parts of the world as a Paramedic to discover again and again that communities in all of the world's more remoter areas still have responsibilty for their own health care. It has bothered me more and more that the 'common knowledge' once available to all is more and more being blocked from us. I don't mean to be radical about it, it just bothers me thats all. I think, if you need an ambulance call one quickly; I think if you need a doctor and the shiny diagnostics they have access to then it's a valuable and powerful resource for you - I also think though that it is a tragic loss that when we get a cough, cold, or sore throat we have lost the ability to pop out into the garden or meadow and select something vibrant, green, potent and non-toxic that will put us right.
So, this is what we do -
- We run short relaxed and fun courses aimed at giving you back your healing heritage
- We provide you with an eco-venue where you can enjoy your work or play whilst reconnecting with your countryside.
- We spend a lot of time encouraging everyone from toddlers to elders to get out and rediscover the verdant beauty, ever changing magic, and unbelievable potential of our green green green countryside
One of our initial problems though was that none of this seemed to work for us in a building - so guess what? We do what we do on a boat on a river! To reconnect you with the countryside this is even better than us setting up your own personal cabin in the woods. Our classroom scenery changes second by second, and we refuse (and are unable) to rush anything. You'll love it!
You will find out a lot more about who we are and what we do by drifting around the site a bit - and if you do allow yourself the leisure of a drift please feel welcome to interact as much as you feel comfortable with - leave a few comments, ask a few questions, share a bit of your knowledge with us.
Welcome!

Thanks David & Hannah for a brilliant weekend aboard the 'Mary Seacole'. Knowing nothing about herbs and how to use them I was worried that I would be out of my depth, but the welcome was warm & frendly, the course was relaxed and informative. I now cannot wait to go out foraging, garbling & making remedies.
Thanks also to Peter & Nigel for their brilliant stories, recipes & boat handling skills.
thanks Tony & Lesley
