We live in a land clothed in rich green herbal finery. Our great herbalist Nicholas Culpeper declared that every plant in Britain possessed medicinal qualities.
We have the herbs at our fingertips, we just need to recover the skills in their use. Your foundation day will provide you with the confidence to be able to harness the skills of our herbal allies. Your nearby hedgerow, meadow or parkland will never look the same to you again. Now you will see power and magic and connection. Identify, harvest, prepare, and transform.
- Identify - Most 'apprentice herbalist's' initial concern. Which plant is which? Is that a Buttercup or Crowfoot, Cow Parsley or Hemlock?
- Harvest - Taking the moment. There is a time of day, time of season and moon cycle when your chosen herb is at it's peak of potency.
- Prepare - Maximise your plant's potential. Here is where you secure the magic of your ally.
- Transform - On board you will transform your herbs into powerful tinctures, soothing salves, syrups, infusions, and much more.
We have the perfect learning environment for our adventure - a river boat! Our classroom will move gently through the peace and tranquility of the countryside where we will meet all the herbs we need. Although set in rural relaxation we are very easily accessible from London and lots of other places.
